The Big Island of Hawaii is one of the most fascinatingly surreal places on Earth. And whether golf is your passion, or any number of other activities, it offers big time excitement.

Nothing is more exciting than the extraordinary golf options delivered by our HawaiiGolfDeals

GOLF HAWAII CARD courses on the Big Island. If there was ever a perfect 'golf-around,' this is it! And if an island exists anywhere in the world where there are more value-driven choices of courses on which to strike the dimpled sphere, we would like to know?

KOHALA COAST
The WAIKOLOA BEACH RESORT has become the epicenter of Kohala Coast activity for golf, dining, shopping and a broad range of accommodations. Its two two fine layouts—The Waikoloa Beach Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., and The Waikoloa Kings' Golf Course, designed by the team of Tom Weiskopf & Jay Morrish have benefited from the watchful eye and tenacity of Hawaii's best golf operator, Scott Head, who was brought back to Hawaii in 2007 to oversee Waikoloa golf. The results of his efforts have been stunning, to say the least. Each course is distinctly different and provide a host of memorable golf moments—from the Beach Course's lusty 12th Green, surrounded by ocean, to the Kings' Course's signature and idiosyncratic short par-4s at 5 and 13.

Hawaii's first golf resort was the MAUNA KEA RESORT. Unfortunately, its brand-name golf course—Mauna Kea Golf Club—a Robert Trent Jones classic just renovated by son Reese Jones, is now a private club open to members and hotel guests at astonishing prices. However, the equally compelling Hapuna Golf Club, designed by the team of Arnold Palmer and the late Ed Seay-designed, spiritually winds through the bluffs above the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Hapuna's 'can't-miss,' visually-stunning layout is always in first-rate condition. It requires accurate tee shots from tees that most often distract the golfer with breathtaking views.

KAILUA-KONA
Driving The Big Golf Trail about 35 miles from Waimea to Kailua-Kona on Hwy. 190, high-above the Kona-Kohala Coast, Makalei Golf Club rears its lovely head about five miles short of Kona. Fabulous new Bentgrass greens and glorious game birds galore dominate this intensely challenging layout by Dick Nugent. It is truly a one-of-a-kind golf course and a tremendous value. Don't miss Makalei or you have missed Hawaii's most unique golf experience.

Just south of Kailua-Kona is Keauhou Bay and the two courses that comprise the KONA COUNTRY CLUB. Our favorite is the Kona CC Mountain Course, which appears to be suspended over lovely Keauhou Bay. Its ample collection of legging holes, with extraordinary views from a variety of elevations, stimulates every golfer. The Kona CC Ocean Course plays like a mostly level resort course, winding gracefully along the scenic blue Pacific and through the condo communities of Keauhou Bay. Fabulous oceanfront holes and good conditioning makes the Ocean Course worth a visit or two.

VOLCANO VILLAGE
For those who venture up to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (and why shouldn't you?), an idyllic golf experience awaits at Volcano Golf & Country Club At 4,200-ft. above sea level, this is the highest elevation of any golf course in Hawaii. The original nine dates back to 1926, making it the oldest course on The Big Island. Its 17th Hole is one of Hawaii's best par-5s.

With eight exceptional and diverse layouts, all of which offer truly exciting golf experiences and a great value to boot, is it any wonder that the Big Island has become the choice for thousands of GOLF HAWAII CARD holders?

If you haven't played the Big Island, you are missing perhaps the most memorable golf vacation of your life. And if you have been there before, now is the best time to return and sample its incredible variety and value.
