Hawaii Golf Courses - Kauai
Unfortunately, there are no golf deals to be found on Kauai, especially since their terrific municipal course raised visitor prices to $60-$88 per-round (as much as an 88% increase). If you walk and carry on a weekday, the cost is now $60. If you ride, add $18 for the cart, which may be shared to reduce the per-person cost. Weekend play can cost as much as $88. All we can say is wow and issue this heads up!
EVEN MORE BAD NEWS...
For the past few years, there has been 36 HOLES OF RESORT GOLF CLOSED on Kauai.
On April 1, 2010, yet another 18-hole resort course is scheduled to close for at least nine months due to long overdue re-turfing applications.
The cumulative effect of so many closed holes and expensive, reduced golf options has turned this once "golf heaven" into a disappointing destination for a golf vacation, which can be better achieved on the other islands.
Fortunately, The Garden Island, as Kauai is also known, is a lovely destination with much to do other than striking the dimpled sphere. If you really want to see Kauai, spend 3-5 days and play your golf on one or more of the other islands.
