The Island of Oahu is also the City and County of Honolulu. It is NOT the Big Island, but it is the big population center with over 900,000 of the states 1.3 million residents. Oahu is also Hawaiis political, business, tourism and cultural center. As a result, it is known as the Gathering Place.

 

Oahu is also home to Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum, Banzai Pipeline and a virtual rainbow of other visitor attractions and activities

 

Over ninety-percent of the island’s lodging options are located in Waikiki, so with that in mind, be prepared to drive 25 minutes to our GOLF HAWAII CARD courses at the Pali Golf Destination. All other courses are much farther away.

 

Both the quantity and quality of the golf courses on the third largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago are substantial. In fact, nearly half of the state’s golf courses are located on Oahu. From seaside links to courses tucked at the foot of steep mountains, Oahu is truly a golfers dream come true with variety as the focal point of this exciting golfscape. But first and foremost are the two incredible Pali Golf Destination courses, which our members seem to find so exhilarating, they like to play them twice.

The PALI GOLF DESTINATION, on Oahu’s Windward side, is as unique a destination as you will find in the state of Hawaii, with two incredible courses (Luana Hills Country Club and Koolau Golf Club), both of which are cut through jungle terrain at the base of majestic mountain ranges. Golf does not get more compelling and challenging than these two “not-to-be-missed” layouts.

 

Pali Golf begins with Luana Hills Country Club, a Perry Dye-stunner featuring a “Jungle Nine” and a “Valley Nine” on an extraordinary piece of property. Small Bentgrass greens and an assortment of Perry Dye’s ingenious goodies make this a course to reckon with. It has the look and feel of a private club with all the accouterments to boot. As with all Dye layouts, always favor the forgiving side of each hole and stay clear of trouble on the other side.

 

The other Pali Golf entry is Koolau Golf Club, which is carved out of dense jungle-like foothills at the base of the Ko’olau Mountains. This compelling course distracts all comers with expansive views of Kaneohe Bay and the imposing peaks that loom above. Featuring several forced carries and new Paspalum greens, Ko’olau plays tough if concentration and proper course management are not employed.

 

We also recommend Leilehua Golf Course, Barber's Point Golf Course and Makaha Valley Country Club, both of which are lovely, challenging and have commendably reasonable weekday rates for all visitors. No GOLF HAWAII CARD or anything else necessary!
