The Big Island of Hawaii (aka Hawaii Island) is one of the most fascinatingly surreal places on Earth. Whether golf, or any number of other activities is your passion, it offers big time world-class excitement and we offer Big Island discount golf.

Nothing is more exciting than the extraordinary Big Island discount golf options delivered by our HawaiiGolfDeals GOLFHAWAIICARD courses on The Big Island.

If there was ever a perfect ‘golf-around,’ this is it!

And if an island exists anywhere in the world where there are more value-driven choices of courses on which to strike the dimpled sphere, we’d like to know. This is precisely why the Big Island is often unabashedly referred to as “The Golf Capital of Hawaii!”

The WAIKOLOA BEACH RESORT has become the epicenter of Kohala Coast activity for shopping, dining, a broad range of accommodations and its two two fine layouts—The Waikoloa Beach Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., and The Waikoloa Kings’ Golf Course, designed by the team of Tom Weiskopf & Jay Morrish. Each course is distinctly different and provide a host of memorable golf moments—from the Beach Course’s lusty 7th Green, surrounded by ocean, to the Kings’ Course’s signature and idiosyncratic short par-4s at the 5th and 13th Hole.

Hawaii’s first golf resort was the MAUNA KEA RESORT, where two of the most dynamic golf courses in Hawaii flourish. Its brand-name layout — Mauna Kea Golf Course — a Robert Trent Jones Sr. classic (fully renovated in 2008) is now a pseudo private club open to members, Mauna Kea Resort guests and discerning visitors—including GOLFHAWAIICARD holders. Hawaii’s most famous and best course is now better than ever due to the meticulous renovation overseen by Rees Jones, the youngest son of the late Jones Sr. Mauna Kea’s incredible array of elevated greens still exist, but they are now craftily cupped to hold approach shots. Some other subtle changes to sight-lines and bunkers, along with contemporary turf applications, have restored Mauna Kea to its preeminent place on Hawaii’s impressive golf roster.

The equally compelling Hapuna Golf Course at Mauna Kea Resort, designed by the team of Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, spiritually winds through the bluffs above the Westin Hapuna Beach Hotel. Hapuna’s visually stunning layout is always in first-rate condition. As the antithesis to the approach shot demands of Mauna Kea, Hapuna requires accurate tee shots from tees that most often distract golfers with the illusion of target fairways, not to mention breathtaking views.

Waikoloa Village Golf Club sits about six miles directly above—and several degrees of temperature below —the Waikoloa Resort in its namesake village. The always well conditioned layout, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., winds gracefully through the surrounding condo communities with some surprising elevation changes and contours. Not so surprisingly, astounding views of the ocean, Kohala Coast, mountains, volcanic protrusions and stark lava flows are evident at every glance of the eye.

Another non-resort affiliated, independent golf course is the sensational Makani Golf Club (formerly Big Island Country Club), which sits high atop the Kona-Kohala Coast about 30 minutes above the Waikoloa Resort. This true country club layout from Perry Dye delivers nine water features, a variety of interesting legging holes and the best finishing hole in all Hawaii. Frankly, Makani Golf Club is a can’t miss golf experience.

With so many exceptional and diverse layouts, all of which offer truly exciting golf experiences and some great Big Island discount golf to boot, is it any wonder that the Big Island has become the choice for tens of thousands of GOLFHAWAIICARD holders?

If you haven’t played the Big Island, you are arguably missing the most memorable golf vacation of your life. And if you’ve been there before, now is a great time to return and further sample its incredible variety and value.
